Waterfront Welcomers
Waterfront Welcomers recruits and trains Port Phillip residents as volunteers in a visitor greeting and information service to cruise ship passengers at Station Pier.
With over a 100 cruise ships docking at Station Pier each season, the volunteer Waterfront Welcomers have got plenty to do.
They help connect passengers to local activities and sites, complementing the many other services geared up to welcome in excess of 300,000 passengers annually. Not forgetting the many thousands of crew.
The Welcomers have been involved in the set up of a new Crew Club with free wifi, mission to seafarers and refreshments. It’s proved to be popular with crew who have different needs to the regular cruisers.
